This is it- the service manual that will save your life if you have to rebuild your transmission.
It's a huge file, but you will need it.

Cool Thx
I saved that sucker.
Thansk man I needed that!
awesome Im getting ready to pull and rebuild mine.
Nice! I'll probably need that soon too, my tranny is starting to slip.
Anyone got the ASTG manual for those of us with "E"s instead of "H"s?
good Post, this should help alot.
E and H are the same trans other than the E doesn't have a governor and 2 metal lines running from it to the output shaft support. In fact you use the same output shaft support, just on the RE trans you stick 2 little plugs in the holes were the lines go.
The E trans uses a govenor pressure solenoid and transducer in the valve body to do the same job.
There isn't a book for the E trans that I know of. The one I used had a little pamphlet of about 3 pages that covered the E transmissions and that was it.

Oh, cool info. I didn't figure there was much difference. Hell, these transmissions are changed very little from the TF727 from back in the 60s.
I started to rebuild mine today and between this and the fsm it all almost everything covered
Thanks for the hook up!
Ken I can't access the file
I can't seem to access this files either. I'm new to this forum, so it might be something I'm doing/not doing. The link provided is just a usual link, correct?
