I finally got the spare AW4 I had cleaned up and mounted a fliped D300 on it, I used a Down East Offroad flip kit on it and have it twinsticked, now all I have to do is drop my old trans and pop this one in
I wanna see the install with the dana 300.
I think I do it just so people don't look under it and go " What did you say you did under here again?".
man, I have been washing my hands with soap and a scotchbrite pad for the last week workin on this thing, I am gonna enjoy putting it in and still have clean hands afterward
I am to the point of just dropping the old trans this morning, everything has been unbolted and it is ready to drop out, hopefully I can get this one up and in today. I am really getting anxious to try it out, once it is in then I can do the cutting brakes and then it should be ready for some testing
my buddy had clearance issues with the front driveshaft and the bellhousing when using an AW4 and flipped 300 , he had to modify a stock YJ front shaft(the little 1" diameter one) to get it to clear ??
I am running full width Dana 60's so the pinion yoke is far enough outboard and not a problem fo mine, I have it in now, just tieing up a few odds and ends on it now and need to measure so I can go get the driveshafts redone for it, then it is on to installing the cutting brakes
Ok, here is the truth, Chuck is my spotter for the RCrocs comps and I promised I would put some of his stickers on the jeep so I had to have a clean place to stick them on
HAHA...that's rich.
Been working on it a little more, hard to get to much done since I still can't twist around to much and my shoulder starts to hurt, Had to have a pacemaker put in me a couple weeks ago. been working on getting the cutting brakes installed
