Has anyone beefed up the factory LSD in a D44A?

I know it can be done in 8.8's to have near "locker like" engagement, but i'v never heard anything about the D44A. Does jeep offer clutch re-build kits for them? This is just something i would be interested in doing before sinking moolah for a aussie IF i can get one.

just something i'd like to try if at all possible.

i tried posting this in the Drivetrain forum but i couldn't since i'm a noob

I don't know about the D44a but I used thicker shims on my 8.8 when I rebuilt the LS and it is much better than it was but I still miss the locker I had with the D35. and if you ever plan on getting a aussie for your D44a you better do it now since the are only making one more batch of them, search about it on here.

A new clutch pack is about a $100. Thatv would be from like drivtrain direct or some driveline storev like that. Jeep would probably want quite a bit more.

i know all about the aussie thing, i just won't wanna invest in something that won't be readily available "if" something were to go wrong. I already have one for my front end and i'm very happy with it. i will probly end up building an 8.8 when the time comes anyway. i'm now just looking for something to do in the meantime.

i'll try to round up every old posi we have laying around @ work and see what/if they have anything in common with my 44A.

i have a bunch of wholesale accounts with different drivatrain mfgs and chrysler so i'll look into it. Is the kit from Jeep just new clutches?

limited slips work fantastic until you actually need them.

in my eyes, if it isn't locked, it's open. there is no inbetween.

    BUMP!
Im looking at rebuilding my Quadradrive dana 44a, but all i can find are Traclok clutch packs. Are these the same clutch disks in the Hydralok LSD?

Make a mini-spool if you want to lock up your QD D44A

I made one using a regular D44 mini spool and some machine work. If you search I'm sure you can find some info on it from me.
