Wheels/tires are on. Now I am just ITCHING to get the suspension on. Looks way too high.









Also, forgot to mention that I got a Thule bike/snowboard rack. Found it really cheap on one of the audi forums so I got a good deal on it. Of course it had to be brandished with jeep parts!

I drive my girlfriend's 2006 A4 3.2 Quattro quite a bit and that thing is sooo smooth. But I suppose anything is smooth compared to my Jeep or either of my turbo Miatas.

Had some free time today so I threw on the springs/shocks/swaybar. Got everything on and aligned it up, went smooth as pie.

On the lift

Now time to get it up on the rack and straighten her out.



Yikes. Camber is FUN to change on these cars.

It handles much better in curves now. I was surprised when I didn't have to take the cruise control off when I exited the highway (speed limit on the ramp was 25 and I was going 65 ). Overall, it was a good cheap upgrade.

Looks good, but I don't like the roof rack being left on all the time (and it's probably affecting your fuel mileage).

I'm guessing that you won't be coming up to the autocross event out at Pungo today to test that new suspension. I'm going - I wonder if I'll drag any cones around today...

What's your next mod?

does the A4 have the raised toe adjustment like the Passats? Hate the double upper ball joint steering that VW uses, makes aligning these things a nightmare!!

Just a lesson in Over-engineering!! lol. A long shot from the old VW's that you can have the motor out in less than 20 min and everything was easy to work on. If someone gave me a VW/Audi, I'd turn around and sell it first thing, they're like BMW's and Mercedes- buy 2, because one is always in the shop!

No way! I like the way they are engineered. Its alot different than a jeep (or any domestic vehicle for that matter). But it makes it much more interesting.

Race it bone stock. Use your old rims and get some sticky tires. Learn to drive the car before you start modifying it. That's what I did yesterday and I placed first in my class (BS). Then again, I was the ONLY one in my class

I think I set a new record for cone carnage - 6. Actually, it was 7, but somehow they missed one. I'm sunburned like a mofo, but man that was fun.

Everyone like to joke the Boxter as a chick's car, but it is actually very well balanced. It's not hard to find a well documented used S for <$30k.

And for those who don't know, documentation is EVERYTHING when you're talking about P-cars, F-cars and L-cars. Lack of documentation can cut the value over 50%. It's kind of like a pre-owned certification on the honor system between owners.

I used to think the same thing until I got in one. Then I went to the local dealership and found out you can get 04-05 models in the low 20's. They even had a carrera for 33k.
