...and broke down and got a new DD. The blue goose ran a good show and i put about 23k miles on it in a little over a year. But now onto bigger and better things. Its an 04 Audi A4, 5 speed, 1.8L turbo, bose sound, sunroof, lots of cool little gadgets. I was going to wait awhile to get a newer DD but this came up for a STEAL so I couldn't say no. Its going to stay relatively stock, I may get some S4 19" wheels and maybe a little mild spoiler but nothing crazy. Just thought I would share a few pics of her....

This person should be taken as seriously as a heart attack while piloting a zeppelin over a bacon factory, which is the most serious of heart attacks, because if that zeppelin crashes into that bacon factory all of us will be without bacon and that simply will not do.

That is a cool ride Elliott. A couple friends have the naturally aspirated versions, but the turbos haul.. Practical move on your part- I bet you'll be happy with it. Sorry again for the cage scratches on the old cookie monster.

Nice. I picked up an '01 A4 a couple of years ago, have loved it. Sport suspension, leather interior, Bose. . .much nicer to drive the commute with than the ZJ!!

I just picked up some RS4 wheels myself. They're 17" for the '01. The 19" will look sweet on your '04!

Here's a couple of older pics:

Thats a clean looking ride. Has it been pretty good to you thus far? This is my first import so I'm hoping it works out nicely.

Thanks Elliot - it is in remarkably good condition considering it is a 7-year-old car.

So far it has been good to me. As far as maintenance, Audi takes real good care of you while it's under warranty (I had a light out on the dash and a broken knob on the stereo when I first bought it - Audi replaced the dash display and the whole stereo for free). The most expensive thing so far has been the timing belt, which has to be replaced at 60k miles.

When I first got it, a friend of mine needed a jump. I popped the hood to hook up the jumper cables - and couldn't find the battery!! I actually had to get out the owner's manual (which my friend really got a kick out of) to see which panel had to be pulled to reveal it (it's tucked back under the panel by the windshield wipers). Later when I went to change my oil, I had to remove a panel from underneath (which took some special tools) before I could even get to the filter and oil pan. It was a little tricky just to get under it because it sits so low that you have to approach the ramps somewhat at an angle.

I have a friend who has an 2004 RS6 (stock 450 hp). Last year when I went in for the timing belt, I saw my first RS4 on the showroom floor (405 hp) - I think that was the first year they were available in the US. Pretty amazing machines.

Cleaned her up a bit, changed the pads, oil, rear coolant flange, cleaned up wheels, and detailed the hell out of it. Living right.
