I feel like there were a decent anmount more WJ's then that last year...
AEV not coming this year?
The lack of WJ's this year could be attributed to a couple of items, they were traveling longer distances than most of the ZJ's, although my wife's WJ get way better fuel mileage than my ZJ and I don't think a lot of the owners were keen on taking them on the harder trails thus risking damage to their clean WJs.
who was hitting both front fenders? but you deffinately would have kissed that passenger side one.
I didn't hit, but I didn't make it either.
Next time......
F/R JKS adjustable trackbars are in, front will probably get some tweaking at the Redstone - otherwise, I'm ready to get the fuck to Moab!!!!
Bob, where did you get the end links from. Can we get shorter ones? If the end links where say 3" or so shorter They would be just past the rim I think. That would be enough to clear. The only thing is the swaybar ends might be at too much of an angle. Not sure though. Scott
Going wheeling today, I hope I don't break anything
In 4 nights I'll be in Moab
Do I need to make reservations or will there be places available?
There should be a few places with vacancy, I think the Redstone is booked though.
We got most of what we wanted done on the truck today. Installed tranny temp, boost, and EGT gauges and flushed the tranny. Wanted to get the power steering flushed too but didn't have time, nor the desire. Tomorrow I just have a couple things to do to the Jeep and we're set.
Ok, since this is my first event, do we meet anywhere on Thus night or is it just a big meet and greet Friday morning at City Market?
Sorry for the newb question, I'm sure this is stated somewhere.
I'm ready to load up and head west!
It says on the GSW page, but there is a meeting @ 7pm Thursday night.
From the site:
Last year was all rainy This year will probably be 99.99 deg outsideLocation: A park across the street from Red Rock Elementary School, which is at: 685 Mill Creek Drive, Moab. MAP
But it's a dry heat. Yeah, Thursday night there is a M&G.
If you signed up for Golden Spike, you need to be at the M&G, so we can see how many want to run it. That's listed on the registration site. If "too many" want to run GS, then we do a raffle.
OK, so I think with lots of Corey help the rear swaybar issue is solved for now. We shortened the endlinks about 2" or so. The end of the bar is now about even with the rim if not a tad lower. It's a good 1.25" away from the rim.
Before it was 1/4" from the tire & would rub on a good hard turn or when the tire was stuffed.
The way it is now it might limit flex a bit but hopefully not too much.
With Bob's help I'll look into something better/differant after Moab.
Sadly the other project didn't go so well.
I have a PSC power steering pump that we thought just needed a Ram 1500 5.9 bracket, pully & new belt.
Well, the darn bracket hits the tubes coming out of the Steering box.
This is what good old Matt( in Pennsylvainia) said that all was needed. He just forgot to ad that there's NO steering box sitting under his pump bracket. He has Hydro steering.
So the PSC pump will have to wait till after Moab as well.
Corey used some kind of PSC bracket on Chalupa but doesn't know what # it was or what Jeep it was really ment for.
Other than that I just have to change out the T-case fluid & pop the belly pan back on.
