You guys all realize the Forum is bigger than this thread right?
J/K, see you guys out there and again welcome to MC. Glad to have some more locals here.
i just bought tow hooks from napa, and longer bolts, is that not the right way or do you just want to be fancy? Lee has a welder and the shop is at his house, there is also a tubing bender, cheep bottle jack kind, but it works. If you want we could whip you up bumpers in a weekend. His only requirement is lots of beer and welding wire.
what kind of beer and welding wire does he like?
No rear bumper and kevin's tow points?? CB...the Hornet just keeps gettin better n better. Lock up the front now and I will let you call your jeep my jeep's daddy.
The kevin's rad. support will gain you like an inch of approach angle
It wouldnt be hard to copy the design. If you're going the buggy route with it eventually, you'll probably end up making something like it or better. If i'd known better, i probably woulda just did the NAPA tow hooks like nw though
busch lite, lincoln .035 flux core. CG you should go for the chrome tow hooks!!!
For the record I was not the one recording. And yes, I have since learned not to record unless I'm convinced something great is about to happen.
My buddy has secured a car dolly for this weekend. I'm gonna rip the rear doors, side glass, headlights and rear hatch off my Jeep. Then I'll use my hi-lift and a 2x4 or something to press the roof back up into position and knock the rest of the windsheild out. Then I'm towing it up to Evans this Saturday to wheel it one last time before I get another and do the swap. I WANT REVENGE ON THE 197! This will be Horus' last run, 9:00am at the lower 311 trailhead.
Whos wants to join me?
If you use your hi-lift jack to fix your Jeep's roof.....
You might be a redneck.
I would go but I am waiting for my front drive shaft in the mail
you running UP the 197? that sounds like fun. Your putting on the big tires right? I have a busy weekend but i'll see if i can free up sat. I heard there was some sweet trails up a little higher.
Mike those massive 235/75s have me shaking in my boots.... heh
Horus, what do those trails look like? I might be down if you think i could hang....i dont want to get myself into a mess though. Im thinking you dont really care about hurting yours anymore.
Strictly big M/T territory up there?
throw a post in the trip planner section if your invite still stands.
I could go Sunday, but saturday's out of the question.
Greenmachine..... I ran most the trails at evans with a bb, 32's and a locked front/open rear. If you have sliders and some patience/driving skills you should be able to run Evans' unscathed.
Just wanted to throw out a safety tip for Saturday......I'm sure your planning to hammer down some beings the roof is thrashed.
Just be careful if you roll it with no doors or rear gate and an already caved roof it's going to be REALLY weak. The roof will go completely flat really easy.
Have FUN.
well, i think i scared off horus...he he...just kiddin.
Anyway, i am just gonna runup to liberty on sunday and see how some of those trails are doin.
Dont wory chris....I wont go where im not supposed to.
Yeah right!
It's on my side, close to Bonney Lake.
happy to get a group up there, just let me know.
I plan on being very carful with my Jeep this weekend. No serious off-camber stuff or challenging hill climbs. I just want to play one last time before I swap to another ZJ.
I'd love to show you Evans GreenMachine. I did Evans in the middle of winter with a 2 inch BB and 235-75-15s and (this is key) sliders. Its only when you ask the XJ/ TJ crowd aboot it that you hear "Oh, no less than 33s locked front and rear." But this weekend reckless abandon will be my middle name.
If I can get the dolly for the weekend I'll be at Evans Saturday 9:00am and Possibly Elbe on Sunday. I'd like to use this Jeep to see what all the fuss is over this "Busywild" trail.
BTW I was just kidding XJ and TJ dudes.
horus - let me know how you liked elbe, i will be running that area for sure, I would like to have a winch first though. Everything i have heard about the busywild is at least have a winch. have fun
No Elbe this weekend . Got screwed out of a tow dolly so I'm not going today. I DO plan on being at Evans Sunday though. If my bud from work can't come through with his enclosed trailer a dude I meet on PNWJeep has offered to drop his rig off there and then come get me with his trailer, very cool. So sun, rain, snow or "partly cloudy with a 40% chance of percipitation", whatever! wrap the dash in plastic wrap and hit trails hard.
What you doin Sunday H3RESQ?
