Colorado 5.9 has one on his ZJ, might want to send him a PM. He also has a pic album with install shots here - http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v169/Colorado59/
Hope that helps.
search over on JU in the speed freaks section, there are a few guys with custom hoods - a few being cowl. Don't think there are any mass produced ones, you're gonna have to go custom.
There's one mass produced one. I tried to find out who made it but I forget.
It sucks from what I've heard about it though.
They made less then 10 zj hoods
I want this WJ hood and can't seem to find were it came from. I remember seeing a post awhile back that had a link to the company that makes it. Anyone out there know what the link is.
I'm not sure if this is the hood or just a add on scoop. The hood a saw looked similair but I seem to remember it having a bigger scoop?!
Oh ya baby. Found them. Big $ though! 1 for WJ's 3 for ZJ's

Pricey...but pretty cool lookin
Thanks, thats the one i was looking for!
I will be going to coilovers when I install my front axle. The hoops will make me relocate my K&N filter and battery. The filter will be mounted right to the throttlebody. It will need the extra room. I agree on the one in the picture. Seems a bit excessive. To each there own I suppose. I plan to kinda copy this. Can you tell I like this WJ yet? The Hambek hoods are not discontinued. They are looking for a new manufacturer. I don't think Ed could handle the orders they were getting with their small shop & just a few people they had & still make a profit.
So for now it's a waiting game. I think it's going to be hard finding one & at the same time trying to keep the hand made/ high quality aspect of there hoods.
They might have found one by now though . I haven't talked to Joe for a few months now.
As fare as the carhoods, hoods. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!!! You'll spend as much as the hood finishing it & painting it. Then it will still be thin & weak!
Screw you guy's, I'm going home!!!!
Grumpy! paint don't cost $600. Unless your getting ripped off. The hoods are good quality. i mean there not from APC or some tuner company
First of all you cant just paint them. They have to be sanded/finished & trimmed first. If you want the cowl functional it has to be cut out too. If a person can do it themselves or has a friend that can do it it will be around $500 or so.
As far as Qualitity goes:
They use the spray method insted of hand layered fiberglass. I read one guys story that while sanding the hood his hand went right through while sanding it.
About 3 years ago when I was concidering the carhoods hood. I stopped by to see the owner of a 4x4 shop in Glenwood Springs. He had gotten one 2 years earlyer. It already had cracks on both sides in the back where the hood changes from horizontal to verticle for the cowl. One of the back corners had broken off too. He said he'd never do it again. As in above, It was $1000 to have a finished product.

That's why I jumped at Hambeks hood for the group buy. $850 for a ready to bolt on Carbon Fiber one. That included shipping.
I do realize they are allot more now. Good quality Carbon Fiber has gone sky high n the last couple of years. When my hood was made it was $3000 a roll. I just never found out how many hoods a roll would make.
As far a Carhoods warranty? http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showp...8&postcount=80
whenever I get around to going to a cowl/scoop hood I'm just going to make my own cowl and then graft that onto the stock hood and end up FAR cheaper and with exactly with what I would want since I would make it
plus I would only be making the cowl to clearance a blower
I could Cut, Sand and paint it for under $200. (connections). I agree with you on quality. I don't think that will be my choice in hoods, but I do like the look of it. It is the only WJ hood I've seen though. If I had a ZJ it would be a diffrent story. I'll probably have the body shop that I have connections with build me one on the factory hood. I like the idea of keeping my hood metal. Carbon would be cool though, except I'd end up painting it. Wonder if you could get on of those fancy clear hoods for your ZJ. how trick would that be?
Hambek's 99-04 hood won't give the room I need for the intake.

I have said it on other posts & i guess I should say it here. I do really like the carhoods Dominator look for the ZJ better than what I have.
I was all set to get one untill I saw it in person & saw what only two yeas had done too it.
I had all but given up untill the Hambek deal.
The one thing I really happy about having a carbon fiber hood is that I don't have to worry about hail damage. Unless it's huge. My stock hood got nailed a bit the week before I checked out the hood in Glenwood.
FYI, on that white 2000 WJ, it's not a hood. It's a plastic scoop that the front opening was dremeled out and it's attached with 3M tape. I know the builder of that Jeep, and it was later sold to some dude in Ca or AZ a while back.
