I'm referring to high school, not college. I know anything goes in college.

What you guys think about this steering set up for the 60.

    Ballistic high steer arms

1" ID 1.5" OD .250 wall tube for steering

tube adapters, 2 right hand thread, two left hand thread.

Then the tie rod kit from ballistic as well, chevy one ton ends.

gunna search around on all the parts sept for the high steer arms, but thats the plan for steering. what you guys think? am I missing anything?

I think it would be pretty sweet. What are you going to do about your steering knuckles?

Got speaker bar done, looks and works great IMO, the brackets are a little ghetto, but whatever.

Got a tie in for driver side D pillar, driver side is completely tied in now, just need one more on passenger side

I shoved a bunch of stuff in around the gas line to block the sparks but i NEVER want to weld near gas lines again, freaks me out..

Got alot of pats tube bumper done, but he finally realized it would be massive more work to get perfect and to make winch plate, so he is scrapping it and putting shrock back on, dunno if we are going to put a stinger on or not. going to use old tube fenders from tube bumper so it wont be a COMPLETE waste. just a lot of time was wasted

only one more weekend to work on our stuff before our wheeling trip on the 7th

Pimpy - you might want to build boxes around the back of those speakers, they don't work nearly as well in open air like that.

I dont ever want to touch that speaker bar ever again, I know if I want a more deep bassy sound, box it in. but see, my back right speaker doesnt work, so both top speakers are wired from the left speaker, and the wiring isnt super tight, and it was a bitch, so thats how its gunna be, it sounds pretty good and with no front speakers with doors off, it sounds just fine, but yeah, I could make a LOT of stuff better on my jeep if i spent more time. But I am one impatient bitch!

My opinion on the steering... Ive heard good things about their arms, and the price is right.

I bought some of their tube inserts and they sucked, could not thread them onto the TREs that were brand new, ordered some from MAD4WD and those were TITS !

I dont like the Chevy TRE, or at least the passenger knuckle side with the hole in it. They seem to ALWAYS bend even under normal conditions forget offroading with it.

If going to High Steer either run the Tie Rod from the lower knuckle mounts or up high and try these part numbers.
    ES2010L 2each
    ES2234R 2each

Then build trac bar to suit.

    1" ID
1.5"OD .250 wall tube will bend faster than a fart going through your pants !

I bent the shit outta mine and gave it away before the paint even dried !

I hope that was a typo. If it really was .025 ... well no wonder it bent! you might as well be using a stick.

The problem you run into with inserts, is you have to have a minimum of 1" ID and that forces you to go thicker material then the Tie Rod bumps into shit left and right. Another option is to slide a 1" solid bar into the DOM tube and plug weld it. Not sure about that Ive never done it.

Thats why the drill and tap method is the most popular and costly. Those taps will set you back some $$

What I was thinking about doing is only sleeving the majority of the inside of the tie rod...leaving plenty of room for the insert to go in the 1.5x.25 and leave room for there to be adjustment. So tie rod maybe 54" (example only) and the sleeve may be 46" so that gives 4" on each side.
