Was post on a local board, looks pretty good apart from the small arms.
I like how he chopped the rear wheel wells.
Not fine for a link. My tierod is 1.5".250 wall DOM and it got bent during its first month of use. Links are usually close to the length of your tierod, and in many cases are longer- which means you have just as much, if not more leverage for bending.Originally Posted by OverkillZJ
That looks pretty badass. I think it needs a wee bit more lift. Looks like it wouldn't get that much flex to me.
How'd you bend it? Just wheeling forces, or nailing it on a rock? I used it for my track bar and steering links, haven't beaten on it hard yet though. I have like 14' of it left, was thinking about making new rear upper links with it even though I'd like bigger, but it's material I already have.Originally Posted by ATL ZJ
On a rock.. But that's something that happens and you have to plan for. Especially if you don't have a super bling highsteer full hydro setup like some folks.. I'd rather have a rig that can just "go with it" than one that I need six spotters for to make sure nothing but the tires touch rocks..
I wouldn't hesitate to use 1.5" .250 wall for uppers since they won't be getting any rock contact.

I would build lower links a lot heavier than that.
I like the rear fender setup on that rig too
He must have moved the gas tank up, as it looks like the rear was moved back quite a bit.
Think your right. Not too hard to raise the tank though.
I really wanna do a rear wheel well chop like that. I'd tub the rear fender though.
That hack job is plain badass. It looks likes he extended the rear back like...7-8"? I wonder how much work would be involved in cutting the rear of a WJ up like that...besides the gas tank (easy enough) 0.o
No clue, gonna ask the orginal poster on the other forum.

Yea, the comp cut is cool.
Last pic that was posted.
where is the thread on your local board? did the owner post any specs on it?
Owner didn't post it.
The guy posted it because he knows I want to build my rig big so he thought I'd like it.
I pm'd him and he can't remember where he saw it. He just saved the pics to his HD and attached them in the thread.
I love the comp cut, maybe one day.
