whats the secret to removing these axle shafts, it is a bitch to do, do i need a puller, i removed locking hub and all snap rings, its a ball joint 44, cover is removed. help i need this carrier. thanks//Kevin next step is pull out the torch and cut them out.

Have you removed the 2 large hub bearing nuts or what ever they are in the hub. You need the 4x4 hub socket. then you can take the hub and rotar off. then you can removel the spindle and pull the shafts

Probobly to late on this but he is right..You need a hub socket.. Looks like a giant socket with 4 sections cut out..

you don't need no stinkin' hub socket....a hammer and a flat head screwdriver work just fine!

ya until it comes time to installing the spanner nuts. i used aq screw driver and the nut fell off on the road. i don't dcare what anyone says that is worse then DW

If your running these axle's it's money well spent. Just buy the socket and keep it in your trail bag. My buddy(72 Bronco) Uses it enough to be glad he bought one!
