Throw a coat or two of deck stain on the wood and it will keep it looking sharp. I've gotten more coments about how nice my trailer is then I have about the ZJ or my truck

You may regret that dovetail. They hang low. I ended up putting a ouple coats of Thompson's Water Seal on mine.

What I used on mine was a water sealer for deck surfaces. I forget the brand, but it's "Honey Brown" color and was like $18 for a gallon at Walmart.

I'll probably throw another coat on it here before it gets cold since it's down to bare wood were I've slide stuff across the deck.

I had thought about a dovetail on mine, but I couldn't think of a reason to do it. I don't normally haul low cars and I was worried about bottoming it out on dirt roads.

Im not worried about bottoming out, hell it will drag if anything. I haul anything from farm tractors to cars and all kinds of shit inbetween, so this was ideal for me, oh and I can roll my 42"s up on it with little effort.

What is the width between the fenders? Those equipment trailers tend to be 73" and the true car haulers are 83-84"

Yeah mine is the same way, equipment trailer and it's 84" between the wells. Also my fenders are 1/4" diamond plate... pretty much like the ones on AW's trailer, so I can drive over them. Hold up to a "1 ton" 'burb on 47" LTBs just fine.

These fender have quick release mounts on them, remove one nut each side and they slide up and off. Bad thing is they are only 1/8" thick not 1/4" like Ive seen. BUT they are NOT aluminum like all others that were on the lot.

What the hell are you putting a 7000 lb vehicle on a 7000 lb gross weight trailer for, which already weighs 1800 lbs?

7K per axle dood.

See now that's a horse of an entirely different color: most trailers I see (car or equipment) are 7,000 gross weight w/ 3500 lb axles. :weedman:

Your tires definitely cost more than mine, but your trailer can hold twice the weight.

EDIT: I like the tire on the front like that, never was a fan of the side-tire mounts.

Yeah I hate the side mount. blocks you from side loading or using a forlift. which I need to start working on. will be nice to have a forklift that runs.
