Well it is finally alive!

My goal was to create a great riding custom suspension, capable, but still a full bodied clean rig.

This round has taken me just 1 year, 11 months, and 20 days from the day I took it apart until I drove again.

Here are a couple of pics, a few thousand or so are on my site www.ruyellow.com.

This was my first lift, an RE8000.

Mandrel Bent tubing from Summit cut into 25 pieces, a high flow cat and a muffler.

With all the suspension and subframe I figured out that there was a great spot to put the muffler in the rear. It is alot louder than I thought, no tailpipe, so it should have been expected. However it has a great sound. Listed to the little vid on the 09/16/2006 page.

I agree, however I kept thinking that I am going to be driving down the road doing 75mph with my Wife and 3 kids in the Jeep. That kept making me make it stronger and insure that everything is gusseted and supported.

That sub-frame looks great. Any pics of the tranny mount+sub frame?

I just drilled off the threads on the Tranny mount, welded studs to a plate, set the mount on top and installed nuts.

As for crossmember, there is more to it than meets the eye. I decided I wanted to make sure that it would not bend.

x2, just want to see how it mounts because from the pictures it appears that if you have any future drivetrain issues you wouldn't be able to get to them, ie. transfer case and tranny. On the other hand that is some nice fab work on the subframe!

Edit: you just posted while I was posting. So are you able to get to everything with the subframe in place?

If I need just the T/C out I will either have to cut the center bar, running front to back or it would fit if I took it apart. It may fit anyways, I just don't know. That is why I have a sawsall and a welder.

For the tranny, I can remove the T/C and slide it back, then there is enough room after removing the Overdrive to slip it out the front.

I decided I would rather have strength and it be harder to work on (hoping not to have to) than to build it wimpy.

I was originally going to have both cross-members removable, but then I moved the lower control arms onto them, that necessitated them being solid.

I completely understand where you are coming from, and again nice fab work.

My motor mounts were all shot.

That was my second set.

I decided to do something different.
