Heading to look at it now.

Seems to be high considering the year.

sweet, I was thinking over the weekend my next vehicle will be a diesel, all my neighbors have BIG turbo diesels and the like, so it makes my stroker sound quiet compared to them when they cruise by.

But with the new house it will be a long while until the wife lets me even think about getting another vehicle.

x2 I was thinking the same. But trucks like that around here are a dime a dozen. All depends on where you wanna buy from. That is probably a fair price for being in CO.

Do it!

I agree, that asking price seems a little high.. Are you set on Fords or have you considered Dodges too? I assume you aren't interested in GM products after Matt's stay.. Good luck with it- having your own towrig really makes wheeling trips that much more enjoyable.

Went and checked it out, it was in decent shape for a 97. And that price might seem high compared to other spots around the country, but 4x4's and trucks of any sort carry a higher price tag here in CO.

The tranny seemed a tad off and I didn't get the impression that the turbo was working properly, and it's not EXACTLY what I'm looking for, so I passed on it.

This is the one that's caught my eye now,

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=209451495&dealer_id=86707&car_year=2000&model=F250&num_records=25&bkms=1159075134671&make3=&make2=FORD&lang=en&start_year=1981&mod_bookmark_id=null&engine=&certified=&fuel=Diesel&search_type=both&distance=50&color3=SILVER&model2=F350&color2=CHARCOAL&make=FORD&color=BLACK&min_price=1&body_style=TRUCKS&drive=4+wheel+drive&max_mileage=&address=80109&advanced=y&end_year=2007&doors=&transmission=Automatic&max_price=25000&cardist=2

MUCH closer to exactly what I want, minus the ghey chrome fender trim and wheels.

Are you looking just for a Ford??

I searched and there are alot of nice Dodges for sale as well. One of these days Ford will drop in a Cummins in their F250/F350s and I'll buy Fords. Until then, I'll keep my Dodge. :)

The Quad Cab is quite important for the truck, and Dodge didn't do that until recently and I can't afford that new of a truck.

Actually Dodge has Quad Cabs starting in 96?? I think. My 98 is a Quad Cab.

They call it a quad cab, but I'm looking for 4 full size doors, Ford calls it a crew cab. And I like the styling of the Ford's MUCH better than the Dodge.

What about Chebby? Both my dad and brother have 2500HD 4x4's and they both really seem to like them. Believe it or not, my dad uses his to pull around a 30k# (when loaded) grain wagon in the fields. He's been doing it for three or four years too

If I get a Chevy, it's gonna be a D-Max, and I can't afford that new of a truck.

Ah... you mean what we call at work a 6 pax/6 pack... aka Cowboy Cadillac.

Yeah the Ford body style is nicer, but I'd rather have the Cummins vs the Powerstroke. :D

Yup, they're both Duramax. I've heard that it'll pull that wagon 60mph down the road - not that I'd suspect my father of doing anything of the sort :D
I know the wagon has brakes, but I don't know if they're electric or surge.

I would rather pedal my zuk to the trail as drive a chebby. The cummins is nice but im a big fan of the old IHs so i personally like the powerstroke. The older powerstrokes are notorious for the turbo crappin out. And as far as a dodge truck goes, at my new job i drive a 99 3500 everyday. Ive hauled more stuff in an old 76 f100 2wd than that POS can haul.

But once again, its all about personal preference and what you need.

By the way, i love the quote about the harleys.
