Nice pics. That looks like a pretty tough trail for a GC.

that water reminds me of my first day-run of the rubicon spring of 05 (NEVER go in the spring...water is so deep lol), open @ 4" of lift with 33"s...we went in from the tahoe side.

It sure scared me once the water dropped off to this deep =P

Just wondering if you have to cross the river on that trail?

Just wondering if you have to cross the river on that trail?

There are a few crossings, but I would say that the deepest and fastest crossing is optional and happens to be somewhat half-way through the trail.

I see you are running 37s with a 6.5 RK, how much body trimming did you have to do? Also is your d30 still with cv axle shafts? I just broke both sides and need to decide on upgrade options.

Yes, The water at Rubicon Springs can be pretty deep, as you found out.
When we went last weekend for GSR, most of the water had dryed up.
But, during Jamboree it was still very deep.

Any how have a good one,
Hope to see ya out on the trails soon,
Ron

I'm running Dutchman inners 33 7/8 inch long side. 18 1/8 inch short side. XJ stub shafts and 297 joints. They cut down 44 shafts for a f-150 I think. Very easy swap. I've twisted one short side shaft and then broke my R&P @ the Rubicon(check out GSR 2006) All of these problems were since the 37's. I had no problems running the 35's.
I did considerable trimming front and rear. I rubbed slightly in the rear at the Rubicon(Overloaded: only had 1.5 inch uptravel in rear) I will trim the rear a little more and be fine.
I limited the front uptravel to 2.25 inches. the rear is limited to about 4.5 inches Here's a pic of the side view of my rig. Notice I shortened the rear bumper alot and trimmed almost to the rear door.(I'm going all the way to the door now). In the front I followed the line of the Fender slope. Then shortened the plastic cladding and shortned the sides of the ARB. It's a tight fit. I only chewed the outside edge of one rear tire on the Con. With a Normal load I don't rub at all.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like good next steps for me, both on trimming and getting rid of my front cv axle shafts (running 35s).

You made some pretty clean cuts, looking good.
