We're looking at doing something Sunday once Matt makes some adjustments to the buggy. We're thinking either OCG or Spring Creek. Might run something Monday too. Anybody up for it?

Trying to avoid withdrawls from GSW? Let us know what trails you decide on running.

John and I had talked about running Chinamans on Sunday too, I'd be down for that.

Hunter it's a short drive to CO, compared to Moab. Drive over for Sunday's run! :D

I might be in. I was planning on taking the kids on a canoe trip Sunday but may change my mind. The battery for my canoe motor was in my car. I would prefer to do Spring Creek to be home for Fathers day dinner.

a group of us are planning to run Wheeler Lake on Saturday and I may just stick around and head down to OCG to run. Sounds like a good time.

BigDaveZJ
06-16-2006, 04:12 PM
Matt's buggy won't be making it this weekend, the buggy probably could run a trail, but he has no way to get it there and back since his tow rig decided to self destruct on his way here from Moab.

SO, we're leaning towards Spring Creek at this point. Of course this could change anytime.

If things get better I might stay a few extra days just so I can run chinamans with CO4x4 on Sunday. I need to do something with the damn buggy if I brought it out here, even if my fuel injeciton pump on the diesel decided to stop injecting.

nate
06-16-2006, 05:34 PM
That's shitty. I bet the injection pump isn't too cheap ($1000??)

BigDaveZJ

We're gonna skip doing something this Sunday. Matt's buggy is nowhere near ready to go, and Pam and I are headed up to Breck Sunday night and don't have time to get everything ready and frankly, we need some relaxation. We are still planning on running OCG next Sunday though.

I good for Next week Sunday to run OCG. When does Matt leave for PA?

I'm supposed to be back in the office the 26th... but all things considered, I think I might head back a couple days late because I need to get SOME damn Jeeping in on this trip...

Nate - dealer wanted close to $1500.... found one from a place in TN for 1/3rd that + shipping. My lift pump was incorrectly wired, so that the injeciton pump had been doing all the work. That plus the high temps Wed on Vail Pass and my tstat locking closed, I've got some truck issues :shake:

What time is everyone meeting in BV for the OCG run (around 9:00 at Gunsomke?). I can't get onto CO4x4 at work :(. I work that morning, but I'd love to get the new rig out and wheel since I wasn't able to make it to GSW.

Matt, hope things start looking up for you. I feel for ya.

Matt, keep wrenching for next weekend.

Who wants to wheel something tomorrow???

Everyone bail on tomorrow? Post up when and where if you still want to wheel.

You told me what? You bitch about anything I do. I could buy a brand new F350, and you'd find something wrong with it.

Fact is I'm stranded in CO, at a friends house, not a bad place to be.

The injection pump went bad because I had a stuck tstat on vail pass, nowhere to pull over, and red lined it for 10 minutes of slow uphill driving with an 8,000 lb load behind it.

Of course I had problems. They're my problems and i'll fix them, so I can tell "myself" so.

It MIGHT be. My injection pump arrives Wed, but we don't know what time Wed. Assuming that's all that's wrong and I'm done with the repairs on the buggy and trailer, I might be up for it. I wouldn't count on it though, if it can go wrong it will!

i dont bitch about anything..

i probably replaced 15 6.5l injector pumps in iraq. ya gotta make sure to use good diesel in those, the internal components arent very fantastic, and the oils in the diesel lubricate the pump. they can either just kick the bucket on thier own, or kick the bucket because of low quality diesel.

theres not too much wrong with a ford, because at least that mistake is circled..

You say that like it's news to me.... It's the biggest known flaw of the old 6.5... but it's not yours, it's not your problem, and I'm betting you have no intention of going on any of these trail runs, so uh, why are ya here?

Mark, Dave, and I will be there. Looks like I'll be pissing people off and staying an extra week to get my wheeling in. Thanks to the spool gun from Kieth I'll have the trailer back together today, probably heading out to the BV area Fridayish, so much to wheel there :D

Sunday we're running OCG with the rest of ya, the rest is still up in the air. We're camping, so we'll probably hit iron chest, wheeler lake, Carnage BV if we're feeling frisky, etc.

Matt, something I would suggest for your 'burb is pour your used engine oil in the tank. It will help with the lube or the fuel, plus you are getting free fuel.

Mapquest.com said 2hr 6min from Arvada, to Bongo Billy's via 285.
See you tomorrow at 10am.

If anybody wants to caravan down there from the Denver area, we'll be at The Fort (first exit past 470 on 285) at 7:45 ready to roll at 8:00. Should put us at the trailhead by 10:30. Everyone should be gassed up and ready to go.

I'm still going, but not a chance in hell are Mark and I getting anywhere near BV by the time you guys are hitting the trail. We're a good 3.5 hours away, and considering it's 12:30am and we just called it a night after buggy tuning, I'll maybe run into you guys later!

Keith - I'll definitely get your welder back to you before heading home, I need to pass through Denver area to hit 70 east anyway! I'm sorry it won't be on the trail with you tomorrow, Dave and I thought it best for me to take it in case any other welds on the trailer decided to snap, but all seems to be doign OK now!

Matt
06-25-2006, 02:33 AM
I'm still in, although I may be running a little behind. I'll try to make the trailhead by 10:30, but if not I'll catch up. ;)
