Well after spending EJS at Moab and figuring my finances, I cancelled the GSW trip. Would be fun, but going farther into debt because of a trip would be stupid on my part.

Anyhow, if you guys are travelling through Idaho and need a place to sleep, let me know. It's 9-10hrs from here to Moab.

Sorry to hear that Nate. We decided to just head straight south through Montana on the way down. We will however be coming back up through Idaho and may just look you up:)(time allowing).

 haha.

If it wasn't that I just put like $600 into the Jeep I wouldn't be so bad off, but no... shaft had to break and blow apart the locker. Oh well.

Yeah I'll have to see how things work out. Overall the EJS trip was not super expensive, but for me it was. It all went on a credit card I wasn't supposed to use since I didn't have any cash available. If GSW was later in the year, I'd be more comfortable going, but I'm not in a position right now to be spending money I don't have.... I can't be paying for stuff with credit cards unless its for an emergency.

I propose we move GSW back a month, for Nate, Overkill, me.....etc :)

I can relate, but it'll be worth it. It'll be close getting the Jeep done by then.

I hear you nate- for me it's the gas expense that's worrying me. I was planning for about $300 in gas- now it's looking like it will be $400+. It may not seem like a big difference, but with as tight a budget as I'm working with that extra $100 is putting the whole trip in jeopardy.

To give you an idea, I have about $300 to last me to the end of this month (May). That's food, bills, diesel, etc.

I have been wanting to go back since EJS. I need to somehow convince my better half (i.e. the wife) to let me be around moab during GSW. .

This sucks- I'm officially calling it off for GSW this year. I laughed when some of you made predictions about people cancelling... then it happened to me. Between the cost of gas and having to replace my stupid radiator I've used the money I was saving for the trip, and now I just can't afford to go. Not sure what else to say except that this really sucks.

Looking forward to next year.

If would have been fun, but to be honest it's not worth the time/money to go just for a weekend, not for me anyway. At least a week would be needed.

I started cleaning out my Jeep yesterday from EJS. Was wondering why it stank so bad... I left a half empty can of beef stew in the back. Like 3 weeks ago.

Oh. I changed the thermostat and I guess I left the overflow tank cap open... saw that yesterday. Antifreeze looks like mud.

Yeah that's what I had planned on doing, but I just can't afford it. I'm not digging out of trash cans for food, but I do have about $20,000 in debt between credit cards, bank loans and a loan from my parents. I'm trying to no go further in the hole.

Anyone that's driving on I84 through Idaho, let me know. More than welcome to stop by to b/s or catch a night's rest whatever. It's about 9hrs from here to Moab.

Just wanted to mention again if anyone needs a place to sleep in Idaho, let me know. It's about 9hrs from here to Moab.

Or if you have time to swing by just to say hi, that would be cool too.
