so i finally came up with a name for my rig. I bought it off my mom mid oct '04, and am finally starting to wheel the correct way. i hit the dirt soon after i got my license, but back then i was more into doing donuts in the mud and drifting. typical high school kid garbage.
my '02 WJ has QD, 3.73's, UC suspension, blah blah blah. It is mostly stock, with the exception of a carsound hi flow cat, homebrew intake, poly rear sway bushings, and that's about it.
i'm not sure how far this project will go, maybe one day i'll go longarms.
anyhow, below are pics of my first real wheeling trip, went to wildlife management areas on Hawkins Rd. and Colliers Mills in Jackson, NJ... went with a '98 XJ on 31s and a Isuzu trooper on 32s

i'm the goofy lookin fella in the sweatshirt and hat, dylan is the man in black, and zack is the other guy in the pic. shea took the picture.

dylan sizing up the hole- we saw a log or two in the middle of it and we couldn't move it out of there using nearby branches.

getting ready to go up high point. this was probably the hardest obstacle of the day. there were rocks, stumps, off-camber areas and it was important to pick a decent line and not slip too much. it's much tougher than it looks in the pics.

dylan got 95% percent of the way and then picked a poor line at the very top. his open diffs really hurt him here as all he was doing was lighting up his tires. shea spotted him to go back down and try again. i'm not sure if this was his first or second run, probably his second.

zack manuevering through the trees. certain parts are tight, but as the widest rig there and the longest wheelbase i had to move at a snail's pace through areas to ensure that i could get through. i managed to get through the day without any pinestriping.

the top of High Point. not sure where my rig is , i think i was on the path to the right, outside the view of the lens.

another pic of zack's trooper. i gotta say, it definitely held its own out there.

view from high point- bit of a shitty picture. those things sticking out from the tops of the trees, etc are rides at Six Flags Great Adventure, also in Jackson.

Dylan on the descent from high point. I'm not sure if Dylan/Zack had trouble with this one, but this is where i had a tough time due to my stock lift and OEM tires. i had to cut right to avoid some rocks, and then left and right once again to clear the trees and ensure i didnt slide down the hill sideways. i had just slid by the trees and had to more or less skid my way down from there. the tires seem to make all the difference in the world.
