DAMMIT!!!!!!

I just noticed that the 21st - 23rd is Zuwharrie weekend.

These dates are VERY subject to change right now, considering I really don't want to sit around behind a bunch of bone stock zuks for my entire first wheeling trip of the season.

Opinions?

OK - Changing the Dates to the 27th - 30th. That gives me a little more time to get my junk ready to roll, and holds promise for a much more enjoyable weekend.

I probably won't be there since that's the weekend I get out of school and I'll want to head home to start work on the cage. Uwharrie is in the wrong direction anyways. Tellico would a be a different story altogether. Everybody posting in this thread better come to GSSE this year, or heads are going to roll.

Things are still on for the weekend of the 28th

I've got a bunch of stuff to finish up before then, but I should be on track.

Shock mounts
driveshaft
exhaust
Rawk lights
front aussie locker
change oil & other fluids
paint some bare spots
come up with rocker protection. (don't know if that will happen before the 28th or not.)

Hank thanks for reminding me the beater XJ needs in addition to the locker install
1. oil change
2. rock lights(might use my unmounted reverse lights)
3. transmission service
4. change rear diff oil
5. transfer case fluid
6. muffler bearings
7. flux capacitor for a night run
8. new driver(less abusive)
9. more lift(have a feeling this one is on hold for another year)
10. 4.56's to use more gas with my 31's
11. fix power steering to work while wheeling, not just on the way to the trails
12. might be time for a newer Heep

Too many Suzuki's Sammy's and the other thing they built that GM sold a crap load of under the Geo Tracker name. Thou there are a few nicely built Sammy's out there.
Harbor Freight has a sweet set of lights for 7.95 includes 2 lights, wiring and switch can't go wrong for rock lights going to be getting a pair or 2.

what the "yall" talk, plus the Zuwharrie is were u want to get your turn signal fluid.

do they have TSF+4? or +5 cause mines a older jeep a 94 unlike ur 95 and it takes the +4...my lights aint been working for some time so i might as well go this weekend and fill up.. that might fix the problem right "yall"?

rob92xj
04-17-2006, 11:15 PM
The correct blinker fluid is TS/BF+20 and it comes in a Michelob Ultra bottle or Heineken depending on what you like(domestic or import). If that doesn't work try tequila shots followed by favorite malt beverage.

Maybe you need to stop beating up on your tail lights so much.... :smt037

I'm trying to get my junk finished up this weekend, but the weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I'm not too keen welding in the middle of a thunder storm. Exhaust won't be going in until this week sometime, but I want to get as much of the other stuff finished that I can.

We shall see. I mean we need the rain, but why does it have to be right now.

rob92xj
04-22-2006, 07:45 PM
The weather is really nasty out today. I just remembered I still have to remove my rear sway bar. I need to order my damn steel taillight housings and LED lights.

rob92xj
04-25-2006, 07:27 AM
I didn't get my rock lights at Harbor freight, got at Wal Mart and they are mounted and wired.

JeepinHank
04-25-2006, 09:12 AM
Exhaust is done
Bumpstops are relocated,
shock mounts are on, but only tack welded (not too good at welding while standing on my head)
driveshaft is in

Drove it to work yesterday. Got a bunch of creaks and pops to check out, but it drives nice and rides great.

Left to finish -
Finish weld shock mounts
intall Aussie locker
Finish limit straps
I want Rawk lights dammit.

I'm thinking we'd be best off meeting up Saturday morning at ElDorado around 9:30. I need to spend Friday night at home to stay in the boss lady's good graces. Especially if I'm planning on going wheeling next weekend too! lol

Opinions?

What's our final head count?

So far Me, Rob, and StinkoMan20x6 are confirmed.... Who else???

Well, didn't get any thing done last night other than doing a lot of looking and thinking. Tonight I'll either be getting my shock mounts finish welded or installing my limiting straps front & rear.

It all kind of depends on whether I can get up with a buddy with a lift tonight. If I do - I'll do the finish welding, if I don't I'll do the limiting straps.

Its looking like rain up around Uwharrie right now, so maybe that means good wheeling conditions for this weekend.

That would be a good thing.....I just need to stay away from very deep mud holes this time around as I don't want to be "that guy" again.
I think I may have a solution to my water intake problem from the last trip up to URE.

I think I may have a solution to my water intake problem from the last trip up to URE.

one solution could be NOT revving your engine up to 7,000 RPM's as soon as it starts back up. Your 4.0 hates you. :smt027

I won't be able to make it this go around. I have exams all next week that I need to be getting ready for. Besides I have several new parts sitting around that I haven't had time to get in the heep. Have fun if ya'll go.

Yes it really does hate me but it has been beaten on for the last 5 years and 100000 miles. It still starts but makes alot of noise since drowning it so a stroker is to be built when it quits running till then it will still take a punishment.

With this rain it should be some fun wheeling at URE.

Shock mounts are finsih welded. Still need to slap a couple of coats of paint on them, and I'll be ready to call them good.

Re-Installed the front locker tonight. It seems to be working just as before, but I'll really get to test it this weekend.

Hopefully I can get my limit straps installed tomorrow (or this) evening while I'm packing up all my spare parts and tools. If not, I guess I'll test Rancho's advertised internal bumpstops to prevent over extension. :D

I didn't get my rawk lights installed dammit.

I went to replace my true - track with a real detroit last night and noticed that my passenger side lower front control arm mount is REALLY messed up, lol. Each side is bent into an S shape. I can't believe that it's still on there and that I'm going to ride on it anyway, lol. Also I seem to have bowed my kevins cross member up in the middle somehow. Looks like I need to get the claytons kit on there soon before my jeep falls apart!!!

Yeah it's going to take a while to edit the video from this weekend which is not a bad thing, while watching Hank on Kodak rock there is no loud poping noise or cracking noise except where his rocker panel and door kissed the rock
Come to think of it Hank rocker slids wouldn't have helped you much you still got our door.
Here a link to my imagestation gallery just uploaded a bunch of pics.

The rocker protection would have protected the door too. As far as I can figure, if I had something solid there, I wouldn't have caved caved the rocker in to the point of hitting the door. Let me know how much your hook-up can get some 4x4x3/16" tubing for. That'll probably be a project I can swing while I'm trying to save some $.
