I'm in the process of trackin down parts to make my worthless 2wd zj 4wd. I'm really wanting to put in a hp30 to make this worthwhile, but I can't find any for under 300. Does anyone have one up for grabs? I'd prefer 3.55 gearing, but any will work because I'm going to have to regear soon anyways.

www.naxja.org should be able to get one for under $250-200 with 3.55, pretty common ratio

Read the for sale sections of these forums everyday.

Those are regional/local forums where prices tend to be a little better. Wouldn't hurt to watch Pirate as well. Good luck.

Wow that's gay that those are worth that much...I just gave a bundle of hp30's to a dude to take to the scrapyard....I was just happy to see them go and be out of my way. Oh well, too late now to be pissed.

what year is your ZJ? I'm also doing a 4wd swap but I already have the 4wd 42re and a crappy 249 I'm looking to get rid of for a 242. I already have the linkage in and might be able to help you some when you get around to cutting the hole in the floor for the linkage:D

HUH?

I've actually found an ad on NAXJA for one with 4.11's in it and 4.56's are included for 150 bucks. I'm gonna give this guy a call here in a little bit and see what is up.

Junkyards seem to think these things are made of effin gold. I called one place and they wanted a grand for a setup.

have you started the swap at all? what parts do you have already?

I made a little template that I can email ya, for the area that you need to cut out for the shifter linkage, that might help you with the cutting.

Oh ok. Mine is a 1996. As for parts, I've got the rear driveshaft gettin shipped out here in a couple days, I'm pickin up E's 242, linkages, and skid plate just as soon as he does his swap, and I'm still looking for the other parts. I'd appreciate that template if you could send it to me. spykosshow at gmail.com. Thanks

Thats who I've been callin. Found one out of a 89 that he says the housing is about the only good thing on it for 25 bucks. I may just jump on that.

I paid like $150 for my D30 and got the gears installed for $100 (was part of the deal)

The pick and pull yards wanted $500

I'd really prefer one out of an xj so I don't have to worry about welding on perches and stuff. I ain't the hottest with a welder.

I had a HP D30 from my ZJ I'm thinking of selling.

4.88 Yukons, ARB locker, 760x shafts, Superior tube seals, unit bearings, brakes, and ball joints have about 3000 miles on them.

Would like to get $700.

Thats a bit steep for my poor ass high school student budget, but thanks. I've located a housing and gears. It's missing shafts and brakes. I've also found a pair of shafts with tone rings that will work with the ABS knuckles and 297 u-joints. I'll let ya'll know if this doesn't work out.

Very cheap price. The locker alone was just under $700.

Oh i'm not saying your price is steep, it's just I can't spend that much money on an axle right now.
