my jeep threw a check engine light last night, checked it code # 43, looked it up and it said: "Peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum dwell time. Misfire detected in one or more cylinders 1 thru 6. (4 and 6 cyls.)" but I have a V8 what does that mean?

Thanks ANDREW

sounds like you shorted the harness during your LA install...

another thought - you did some welding I assume right? did you disconnect your battery ground before hand?

It's not that weird of a code - the problem is, it's very general. It means that there is:
Multiple cylinder misfires (P300)
A misfire on a specific cylinder (P301 - P308)
Ignition coil problem (P0351)

You need to scan it with a real scanner to find out what's the issue.

I chased this one for a *LONG* fucking time on my L6. Turned out to be a burnt exhaust valve seat in the #2 cylinder. I should have done a compression test in the beginning after a new set of plugs, wires, cap/rotor and a coil didn't fix the problem :shake:

ok so compression test all cylinders and then if that all checks out get a new coil? I have all new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Thanks for the reply, also what do u think about my windows computer or wires fuc*ed, I did have the battery disco for all my LA install

Actually, I'd recommend getting it scanned to find out what the actual code is, then go from there.

ok I checked it today and it read P0308 so now should I do a compression test on all my cylinders, and if that checks out then check my plugs and wires?

Read your plugs. Inspect your plug wires, cap and rotor. A compression test wouldn't hurt. Pay attention to the plug and plug wire (on both the spark plug and on the cap) on #8 - a bad connection or loose plug could throw a code.

Did you use a lot of dielectric grease in the plug wires' boots?

I take it you don't have a FSM? Pretty handy to have and it has quite a few troubleshooting techniques in it.
