any TJ/XJ/YJ/ZJ hubs should work.

had XJ hubs, didnt work, and i know later year TJ ones wont... maybe the year was wrong on the XJ hubs? maybe i need newer ones?

What was different about the ones that didn't work? I've switched hubs between all the models (and all sorts of different years) and never had a problem. Were the XJ ones you had from a late model also?

no it was an 80's XJ

Yeah that's why. Newer XJs use the same ones.

interesting...I've put hubs from an '89 XJ on my ZJ before...what years were different and what's different about them, eh?

Trust me, not all of them will work. DEFINATELY not the TJ hubs, they're not spaced out 1/4" like ours are. I made the mistake of putting my TJ hubs on as a trail replacement, and shattered both of my rotors at once.

That was a bad day.

ABS makes a difference too. My non ABS hubs off of my cherokee didn't fit on my ZJ with ABS. the hubs for non ABS are thinner I think than the ABS ones. I couldn't put the rotor on without it hitting the brake pad.
Just my $.02. Hope this helps.

I have 00 TJ hubs with 98 ZJ rotors and calipers on an 86 XJ axle... fit just fine... well after I put the TJ knuckles on anyway, since the old XJ brakes and hubs are way different.

I have personally put hubs from an ABS equipped '93 ZJ on a non-ABS YJ '94 YJ and they worked just fine.

I believe it's just old 80s shit that used a bit different hub. It's only like 1/4" difference. I had 3 or 4 of those in good shape that I threw out cause no one could use them.

97 tj and 97 zj had that difference of 1\4 inch between each other. Not just 80's!

You must have got some werid hubs or something. When I pulled my original LP D30 4 or 5 years ago, we put one of the "better shape" hubs on my buddies 97 TJ.

It's funny because I ran the TJ LP D30 for a while and I did a brake job and I got new rotors. Well 1 rotor wouldn't fit, was rubbing on the knuckle. The guy that had the axle before put an old sytle hub and rotor on 1 side....

It'd be interesting to find out what years had what hub.

No idea why, they were the original TJ hubs on my buddies jeep. Tried throwing them on as trail spares when I snapped a couple shafts in Wellsville, and the spacing was another 1/4" IN, which cause my rotoers to crack themselves on the steering knuckles.

That made for a crappy long day, friends had to go to the parts store to get my butt off the trail.

I've also swapped hubs between an 89 XJ w/ no ABS and a '93 ZJ w/ ABS....i think i've also used the other 89 XJ hub on the '94 YJ.

This shit's crazy...I thought they were ALL the same. Kinda makes me want to go start taking hubs off of all the vehicles in my yard...but i'm way too lazy for that.

The 89XJ hubs w/ no ABS worked on my rig as well, with ABS. Looks like this might all be total hit or miss?
