Anyone swapped a '96 or younger 5,2 V8 (OBDII) in a pre '96 ZJ (OBDI)?

I've got a '93 ZJ 5,2 V8 with 100.000 miles ánd I've got a much younger, complete 5,2 V8 with tranny, wiring, pcm, etc etc with 50.000 miles.

I'm thinking of swapping the younger engine in my rig, do you guys have any experience with such a "conversion", things to look out for etc etc.

I'm planning to swap the complete package: engine + tranny. So my 46RH will be replaced with the (weaker) 44RE. But my rig will be used 75% onroad so that's no issue for me.

Thnx!

if there is nothing wrong with you current engine i see absolutly no reason to go through the hassel...but to answer your question, yes you can do it. having the pcm helps a lot.:smt117

Well, the current engines perfomance is rather good but it has a few flaws.
It doesn't run nice idle, alternator is dying, ok ok that's easy to be fixed.

But the main reason is that I want to sell one of the engines, and I rather use the best one for myself ;)

Pretty much pointless unless your 93 is really destroyed.
