I have a NP 231 out of a 90 MJ thats been reciently rebuilt with new bearings, chain, and seals. It also have a Tera 2 lo kit. It was run for less than 6 months before being pulled in favor for an Atlas. For the last 6 months its been sitting in my garage and it needs to go. $275 obo. Buyer pays shipping.

Its a 21 spline input. I can get a 23 spline input from my local 4x4 shop but its going to be extra and I am not going to install it. The case also has a Rubicon Express hack and tap SYE on it. I forgot to mention that. Also the case is in Charlotte, NC 28277.

Hmm.. I could send you an ARS tag for it and have it shipped for free.. hm...

The only problem is that I couldn't swap my input over to that case since the gear pitch is different, so I'd have to buy a different input that would work. From what I understand there's a change in pitch around 95-96.

the gear change was circa 94-95 and a new input will run you $125-150 from a local shop...also, it must have the correct bearing shoulder

I was under the impression that in order to get this case to work in the newer vehicles was to swap out the input gear out of your existing case and put it into the 231 and everything will bolt up and be peachy.

The case is still available and for sale.

It depends on what year your vehicle is. It's not always that simple.

Shot you a PM, if you still have this shoot me an e-mail. Does it have an SYE.

I think I smoked my 242 on sunday, only has 2wd and 4low now, plus seems to be leaking a ton all of a sudden.
