i bought these axles a couple months ago, put em under the zj and they have only been offroad once since i installed them. i dont want to continue building up my zj, so i figured i'd let someone else take advantage of these axles.
here are some specs:
8.8 Axle:
31 Spline axle from Ford Explorer ($400)
4.56 gear set ($169)
4.56 master install kit ($87.95)
Detroit c-locker ($575.88) (Full Detroit)
Brake pads ($26.87)
Flange adapter ($25.34)
Flange adapter bolt kit ($11.75)
Calipers (167.58)
Caliper hardware kit ($12.99)
Outer wheel bearings and seals ($37.62)
Gear set up fee ($275)
8.8 Bracket install welding and brake work ($630)
H&R aluminum wheel spacers and ARP wheel studs ($225)
Tax ($63.90)
Total cost to build : $2708.88
Dana 30:
It is a low pinion axle w/ u-joint axle shafts
When I bought it, the axle had just been completely rebuilt with:
New 4.56 gears
a New Detroit Tru-trac locker
rebuild cost $800
There is also a truss welded in on the long tube side from the diff to the passenger side control arm mount. (which i can remove if need be).
Both axles were professionally rebuilt by a guy that has his own off-road shop in Michigan.
These axles have only seen some on-road use and 2 or 3 wheeling trips total. I have only used them once offroad, they performed excellent, there is no going back after wheeling something with lockers.
I would like $2000 for these axles, which is less than the total cost just to build the 8.8, shipping can be arrange at expense of buyer or i can deliver them with in reason.
If you are interested you can contact me via PM or email at weygacg@wku.edu
have a good one,
chris
