Recomendations for wheel spacers?

My back tires are rubbing the coils and inner fenderwell enough to annoy me. I'm figuring like 1/2" out would be enough.

I've had good luck with my 231HD, my 8.8's ARB, my 4.56s, Co2 OBA, and really welded shocks.

Everything else has gone to shit atleast once.

I thought you were sick of poor craftsmanship?

has 1" spacers for a pretty good price.

If you want less than 2" (1" per side) you are going to have to settle for simple spacers that get held on by the wheel - Not the hub-centric types that bolt on to the axle then the wheels bolt on to them.

If you're willing to go that route, you can get them from stagewest 4x4. (At least according to AW's 8.8 writeup.)

You guys are being mean :supz:

5/8" on each side for the 8.8" right? I guess an inch would be too bad, though I might rub on the outer fender then.

I might just have my brother make me some 1/2" thick spacers out of steel. The lugs should be long enough.

If you're going to go 1/2" or more, I'd suggest replacing the lugs. Cheap insurance if nothing else.

Yeah I need to measure them. I know they are pretty long to start out with.

Sorry to bring this shit back on topic, but why don't you just throw down for some sweet new rims for that hooptie instead of getting some spacers? I've heard that spacers are baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

They put just as much stress on the axle as a rim with different backspacing does, cost a grip, and are just one more thing that could fail, so why would you bother?

BTT. does a non-hubcentric spacer really put that much stress on the axle? i'm needing to move mine out like .75" max but not willing to throw $150 down for a pair of eibach spacers (only company i've seen that have 1" spacers)

The reason for not getting new rims is because the front axle is the right width. 2 different rim offsets would make rotating tires and having a spare a bitch.

The spacer plates will require a longer stud to do it right. That's the biggest problem with them (if you want to call it a problem). The hubcentric ones, if that's even the correct terminology, just bolt onto the flange of the axle (on top of the rotor) and then have another set of studs to mount the wheels with. Performance Wheel has 1" spacers for $100 a set last I checked. That's not really a bad price considering that you're looking at $50 for a set of plates and adding another $30 for new/longer studs. I don't think you'll have much of a problem with wearing out bearings, etc. with spacers on a rear axle as opposed to on a front.
