Driving (fog?) lights or Head lights?

I've pulled a signal off of my stock head lights wiring loom, to a relay, and then powered my offroad lights with that. Actually I tapped them into my high beams, and ran that through a switch to the relay... That way when I have the switch turned on, and hit the high beams, my offroad lights comes on as well. The signal input on the relay combined with the draw of the led switch isn't even enough to notice a difference in light between the two headlamps.

I don't remember which wire I tapped into. I don't even know if it would really matter for a signal wire.

Sorry about that, I ment fog lights. can you just splice them in or... THX

Depends on how big of lights you're talking about here...

If you want to run, say, a 55W light, you could probably get away with it. I say that assuming that you're getting rid of the fog lights. If you're planning on keeping the fogs as well, or want some bigger 100W+ lights, I'd just splice in to get a signal, and run the big power through a relay.

I run 135watt lights off my stock fog light switch.. I just used the stock wire and ran it to a relay and run the lights from the relay..

I did it so I could switch them from the stock headlight switch..

Yes. I run a set of 55W lights right off the stock fog wiring.

I did the same for my PIAS in my TR front.

I have 2 Hella 500's tapped onto my high beam wire like Hank. I have a switch for the lights that only works when my highs are on. Sounds like exactly the same setup. I tapped into the headlight wire right at the lamp, it's pretty easy to figure out which is highs and which is normal lights.

my rock lights are wired into the fog wires and they are 55 watts. Applying 12 volts only requires 4.58 amps per light so the 20 amp fuse under the hood is plenty sufficient. just make sure your wires are color-coded correctly, mine weren't.

relay would definately be the way to go though, that doesn't take much power away from your fogs with the signal and gives your new lights potential to shine their brightest.
