Straight from the machine shop.

i gave them the drawings 3 weeks ago..or so. and here it is.

I'm going to try to use tranny cable lines so it will be cable actuated with twin sticks.

I dig the photos but I'm not to sure about this part. I really hate cable shifters and have had issues with them in the past on 5-speeds. A good solid linkage is a way better solution IMO assuming you can figure it out. I realize that once flipped and in a non-standard installation this could be a less than simple task but it might be worth reconsidering....

welll i'm definatly going to look at both options but this setu[ allows you to use the stock little balls and spring to locate the sifter rail position and hold it there. unlike most flipped d300's. for simplicity i would definatly like to use cables. but we'll see. It will be a while before i swap the d300 in. When i do that the TF999 also gets installed so its kinda major i just want to get my steering box fixed and drive the freekin thing while i can.

Not really a good comparison, but all the D300's I've ever had never disengaged all that easily. Can't imagine it being any fun with a cable operated shifter. Good luck with it though... be interested to read about it when it's done.

mine shifts pretty easy, did not shift very well before i rebuilt it. 2 of the pads on the shift forks were in the bottom of the tcase. i think that is the reason it was not shifting right. i replaced them in the rebuild and its pretty smooth now. i could shift mine on the bench with a screwdriver and a tug on the rail.
