Call me new but if you are going to go through the time and exspense to run beadlocks shouldn't you run a double beadlock? I mean why run a beadlock for only the outside bead, or is it that the inside bead is not as prone to popping as the outter bead??

if money is no concern go for it

really chances are very slim you will blow a inner bead, thats why most are exterior only

Only ever had problems with the outer bead on mine. I was thinking double beadlocks but I'm not sure I can run them. You need a pretty big wheel relative to your brake calipers to clear the double beadlock. I'm hoping to do beadlocks on the waggy this winter. If I modify my existing 15" wheels I only fork out $50 a wheel to do DIY beadlocks. If I want to do double beadlocks, I'd need probably 17" wheels to clear my 3/4 ton brakes (I had to grind calipers and backets to fit 15s). That means new tires too and yada yada....Next thing I know I spent $2000 instead of $200....

These are the reasons I was asking, I plan on running 15's for now, not even sure I will be doing beadlocks at all just getting some ideas.

Does anyone run beadlocks on their DD, I know they are not DOT legal but do they hold up okay?

Dirk... im running walker evans beadlocks on my ZJ and they have held up fine. The whole DOT thing is a non-issue and has been beat to death on about every 4x forum out there.

If your going to stick with the axles you have now, then a 15'' rim is fine. I went with a 17'' to clear my front brakes.

I was going to go with a double beadlock from Stanzworks

http://www.stazworks.com/rims.html

He will make you a set, any size, backspacing, ect. The only down side I saw was that they were going to be heavy SOB's .

I then was looking into getting beadlocks from Allied Racing.

http://www.alliedrockathons.com/catalogue_sample.htm

they also make some really nice rims.

Then I heard about Walker Evans.

After talking to the guys at Walker Evans Racing, I was sold... and I couldnt say no to the Bling Bling :smt003

Thanks Jim,

Right now I am just going to stick with my black steelies, but am just thinking about the future.

As far as axles, I am not really sure what I will end up with as a final solution, the more time I spend reading and talking with people the more I want to do some full width D60's, but for now I need to stay focused and get the HP30/8.8 installed. and run that for a while and go from there.

Thanks all.
