i have a 97 ZJ and am about to start modding it, but not quite sure what i want. i originally wanted about 7 inches of lift (4.5" rubicon suspension lift and 3" body lift) but recnetly found out that body lifts are impossiple on ZJ since the body and frame are attacked. i wanted a minimum of 6", but rubicon's (and every other brand) biggest lift is 3-4.5" for ZJ. so is there a way i can get to that 6"? also, i was thinking some mud/all terrain tires but dont know how gas milage will be effected. i was hoping for 35/12.5/15 on 15" rims, how will this workout? i read in Offrad Adventures magazine about a formula to find the closest needed gear ratio's, and for 35's it was 4.56:1, would this be a good decision? thanks guys

i would check out kevins offroad or claytons for lifts around 6". 4.56's should be fine with 35's. if you are gonna go that tall though i would recomend longs arms as your ride will be real sh!tty on short arms.

Body lift, go with the body lift. The best lift money can buy for grand....

More than 4.5" or so is quite possible. Just takes ALOT of work and money to do it right.

I've got about $2500-3000 in my suspension setup.

You could do spacers on top or 4.5 RE system.

Whatever you do, don't get raped by 4wheelparts.

Oh yeah.... Boddy lift is the shit.. You can put some big ass tires on there and its cheap.. Just use some steel you have laying around and some long ass bolts from walmart... :smt003

You may have to make a skid to protect your radiator but thats all good to...

lol.

No body lift on a Grand, it's a unibody :smt002
Check out Kevin's Jeep Parts, he makes a nice 7" lift kit for the ZJs.
Also 35s will blow the stock D30/D35c to pieces. 33s max!
