While looking over my stroker project with paul (paulkeith) the other day, he brought up the fact that somebody had issues with borla (or some other company, don't remember but name doesn't matter) and a HP44. I think the guy had to do some custom exhaust work with the downpipe. I'm probably going to move to a HP front axle fairly soon, I'm just looking for a heads up I guess.

I'm not using the Pacesetter but there is another option..... Kolak recommended the Thorley header to me years ago and I went that direction. Great header with a great warranty.

I have a Gale Banks header on mine. Like it so far.

Its not a question of do I want pacesetter or not - I already have the headers in my garage, I was just wondering if anybody knew if i'd have any problems with a HP axle.

XJ have a hp30 and don't seem to have a problem... how much bigger is a hp44 diff?

it was timzjatl, with a borla header. i think the borla header sticks waaay down. at least considerably further than the pacesetter.

Before he buggied last summer, I believe Tim was in the 6.5- 7" range with decent trimming.

Hmm, so even the lift didn't help out, I guess it still would have hit when the axle stuffed. I'll just have to find out how my headers act when I get them on and swap in a new axle.

I may be wrong, but I thought Tim had the Thorley header...........
