never replaced the condensor as it didn't cross my mind when their was 10 feet of snow outside. removed it last august when i was putting in a radiator in order to drive it home. any idea what i'll need besides a condensor to get my a/c working again? should i replace all the tubes? do i need to take it to a shop, or can i just get some r134 and a gauge at the auto store? any advice would be great as i almost died driving through the mojave several weeks ago. it sure doesn't get very hot here in crested butte. i don't understand how you could live somewhere like vegas or phoenix.

You'll need to suck all the air out of the system; bringing it down to as low a vacuum level as possible. When I did residential heating and air conditioning, we would try to get it to 25"hg.

That's done to get all the water out of the system. Water inside the system kills A/C compressors.

Since the system was open, you'll need to do that.

If you don't have the equipment to do it, you'll need to bring it in for the recharge.
