Where do you buy them? I've looked on Grainger and some other websites, but I don't see anywhere that sells them by the BOX. I'm sick of paying $2-3 per disc at Home Kreepo.. Help :toimonst:

Find out where your local building contractors are getting them. They buy them by the box, if not the case.

Try McMaster-Carr. They have a website where you can go and request (for free) one of their 2000+ page catalogs that has fucking EVERYTHING in it.

I get my stuff in town at Air Gas (weld shop). The Radnor cut offs (made by Norton, which is good and spendy stuff) are just over $1 a disc.

There's an ebay store that sells bulk flap disks - I think they also sell cut off wheels.

I know I saw a link on PBB a few months back. IIRC - the flap disks were a screaming deal, esp in larger qtys. Try searching the Shop talk section of PBB for "flap disk," and you should come up with the link.

Or you might be able to find it right off on E-bay.

I'm pretty damn tired of running to Lowes and dropping $20 on 10 cut off wheels myself.

Other options are Travers (www.travers.com) and Cyberweld (www.cyberweld.com) - I think they both sell bulk cutoff wheels

Cut-off wheel for what? one of those 2.5"/3" air grinders or a 4.5" angle grinder?

I bought 10 cuttoff wheels, 5 grinding discs and 2 flap disks the other day at Air Gas for around $35. The weld shops, at least around here, are alot cheaper.

I rang up a ~$200 tab last time I was at the welding shop, so I didn't start looking at cutoff and grinding wheels. I'll look there though. McMaster is a good idea.

And Chase, these are just for a 4.5" electric angle grinder.

Northern Tool is another place to look. I've had much better luck with the Northern 4.5" cut-off wheels over the Harbor Freight ones. Occasionally my local HF has DeWalt cut-off wheels which seem to work better than the store branded ones - but they typically only get them in 4".

I pay about $1 each if bought in bulk at Tractor Supply.

You might try www.wttool.com too, they're the best place in charlotte to buy tools.. I don't know if they sell boxes or anything, but worth a look - and you might buy other stuff from them too.

What I do too is run 5" disks on my 4.5" grinder. They are the same price, and last a bit longer.
