a guy locally here is putting these together.
Opinions?

Steering upgrade for TJs and XJs is in stock
**Fits both the Dana 30 and the Dana 44**
---cures the weak link on Rubicons---

The kit includes:

Custom tierod made of 1.5"x.250 DOM using high quality 3/4" hiems,
Custom draglink also made of 1.5"x.250 DOM using high quality 3/4" hiems,
2 sets of misalignment bushings for the draglink ends
and 3/4" Grade 8 hardware

This kit not only replaces a weak link with massive parts but also reduces steering slack to increase responsiveness. The kit can be installed with basic hand tools and the upgrade does not affect the sway bar mounts nor does it interfere with the differential cover.

The cost: $299

not sure how well the draglink would flex. i think it is missing a misalignment spacer in the pic

A friend of mine has a similar setup that uses heims like that... he said it had some slop in it, and I understand that most steering setups with heims do as well. As for the price, it seems pretty bad ass.

Looks like another option, I just don't like heims on steering

My concern is usings heims in single shear on the pass side with one 3/4" bolt (one heim on bottom, knuckle, one heim on top). That's ALOT of forces on a single 3/4" bolt (not to mention a shitty knuckle). Lastly, if they're going to put a bend in it, may as well put 2 bends in to keep the heims from maxing out.

The same thing with a Tera or WJ knuckle (for true crossover steering) would be good

Just do the Chebby steering. Mine is working good. I'm not sure what this dead spot people talk about. I don't have that... or maybe I do and it's not noticeable to me.

I don't think the pressure on one 3/4" bolt is a problem. You'd have to put like 80,000 pounds of force on that bolt to break it...

I'm not worried about that force, Where do I buy?

I don't think the angle it's coming in at ont he heim is bad enough to require more bends, no way. I also don't think the leverage on the single sheer mounting pount is bad.

I just don't like heims. :weedman:

i 2nd that heims suck. i've never had one on my front end that survived more than a month or so. even though i try to avoid it, theres no way to miss ALL the mud on a trail. thats what kills them.
