Ok, 4.0L upper idler pully near the AC seized up today the ball bearings had no visible lube or grease on them. this thing looks like it mounts to an aluminum bracket,
It looks like the pully seized up, then ground itself to bits in the process taking off some of the pully braket looks like 1/8" of aluminum then another 1/2" of some metal spacer, not sure it thatt broke off the bracket or if it is supposed to be part of the washer?
so i guess this is what im asking
1) are the ball bearings supposed to have grease on them
2) is the bracket OK to use if i just slap on a new pully and bolt/washer
3) fawk! jepps always be breaking :finga:
