View Full Version : Electric Fan conversion
Has Anyone converted to an electric fan ??
If so what fan did you use??
Looking in the Jegs cat I am thinking about the Black Magic Heavy duty Electra-Fan
Pulls 2800 CFM at a 13.9 Amp draw.
Do you think 2800 cfm is enough??

I use a Ford Taurus 2 speed fan...
Here is my writeup...http://www.jeephorizons.com/tech/fan/
It doesnt show there but I use a Ford starter solinoid for the high speed side of the fan its mounted on the fender next to the battery...
Dam that looks even better!!!
Time to go to the bone yard!!!

Which engine? From everything I gathered, the Taurus won't work without extensive cutting of the shroud with the 4.0 and it still won't fit right, but pretty much drops in with the V8.
I just installed a Perma-Cool in the stock shroud of my 4.0 and it's working great so far. One of these days I need to do a write-up of the install.
Best thing about doing the conversion is that I can yank the fan and the shroud out in only a couple of minutes. It would be really easy to go back to stock too.

Unfortunately, yes. And I have it :smt009
Taurus fits with the 4.0. I have one in my Jeep. I just cut a little bit here and there to clean it up, no extensive trimming.
