My oil press. is kinda low. Just under 40 warm. Will a new oil pump fix this? Or is my motor the old? I only have 142xxx Miles on it and from what I hear thats nothing!

Yeah I supose but i would really like to run 60psi. Will new pump make it higher there only $25 for cheap one but i would get a better one than that. Theres i high flow for $100. Is that better. AKA higher Psi?

Thanx

40 psi is the normal pressure

40 lbs of pressure is perfectly fine. DON'T PUT A HIGH VOLUME PUMP INTO A HIGHER MILEAGE MOTOR EITHER!!!!!!!! You will run into oil starvation problems at higher RPM.

Allright Thanx! For the tip I will just leave it alone.

general rule of thumb is ~10lbs/1k rpm and the motor is safe.

Yeah I think 40 psi is normal. I get around 35-40 psi at idle.. dunno. I hear too that the high volume pumps can wash the crank bearings, bascially too much oil?? I'm not sure if that make sense, I don't know a ton on engine internals.
