i replyed over at nagca and then saw your post here too. i've got one, pretty sweet, only thing is you hav to bend them yourself, which isnt a big deal as long as you have a torch.

well when you dont have access to an extensive shop and tools, sometimes you have to pay for convenience.

I was gonna flame you until I looked at it. Removes the weak points. Having broken my linkage on the trail, I think it's worth every damn penny if it holds up like I think it would.

yeah pretty much turns the linkage from aoaihsgtolawglkasdhgkl;sadhg;klhashkashg; kl to --------------- :weedman:

But that's 130 bucks that's staying in my pocket for now. Maybe when the zj is running fine again i'll look into it.

What broke?

IMO, I don't find the stock linkage to be overly complicated or weak so that's why I was saying it was a waste of money. If yours was bad, well I imagine it wasn't too bad of a choice. The think that does get annoying with it is that it's right in the way of the tranny band adjustment. I bet the Novak one would help.

The Z gate they talk about is TJ, maybe XJ too?. ZJs don't have that, at least mine doesn't. Straight push/pull all the way threw the gears.

Might want to crawl under there and look again.

I was thinking "Z gate" was to get into 4 Lo, you have to pull the shifter to the side and pull back. I know the TJs is like that. Mine is just push/pull threw all the gears.

Do TJ's really have that? I thought we were talking about the thingy in the linkage the looks like a Z. You know, the thingy majigger technical term thing. I'll shut up now since I'm not down with the terms tonight.

Yeah. I know for my buddy's 97 TJ had that.

Matt, what broke on your linkage? Just curious.

The NOVAK shifter is nice, just to me it seemed a bit pricey. I guess I'm being cheap today.

On mine the rod that goes from the body to the floor has fallen out twice.
Also I need to adjust it for the 242 but it is so rusty that nothing will come loose and if I try any harder I know it will break!
I was just going to get one from the bone yard untill I found this one.
$130.00 in realy nothing just like fueling up a few times at $2.50 per gallon.

The 242 is:
| 2hi
| 4 full time
| 4 part time
| N
\
|
/
| 4lo

Mine was just a straight pull. Maybe because I had the 249 to start out with? 242 and 231 both the same way.
