balljoints.... what were you thinking? so it's about time to put all the crap back together in my HP30 and I'm trying to decide on balljoints. I know spicer and moogs are good but my question is, should i be looking for offset balljoints? I never really hear much about them, anybody running them?

My spicers survived last year, infact, they're the only thing in that axle that's not getting replaced this year

I didn't need offset balljoints at my height, but I know a couple that have run them.

See the thing with the off set balljoints is you need to have an alignment sheet to work off of to fix the camber.

If your looking for some more caster, that would work, they make up to 2* offset balljoints. Though, I think with normal ball joints and a HP you should be all set.
New Spicer ball joints where $47 a side here in town.

Oh, the ball joint press Mat Co makes is the shiz! It's like $300, but well worth it.

Elliot,

I got a complete set of Spicer balljoints for my HP30 from www.thejeepguy.com Ryan is his name and he was great to deal with. I also got my 1-ton TRE's from him. Hit him up and let him know I sent you, he should hook you up.

To get back on topic. I dont' think offset BJ's are all that popular. I wouldn't bother with them. I would say get a good set of spicer BJ's and be done with it. Unless yoru planning on runnign 37 or somthing stupid then it doesn't matter what you get you'll be replacing them soon enough.

I just installed NAPA units in 2degree offset uppers and standard lowers in a HP30 as part of my latest build. Set them to maximum caster correction. Can't comment on them yet, but they did come with a 'Lifetime Guarantee' which I think they will regret.
