New speedo gear...need to reset the ecu?

Just put in a new speedo gear because of the taller tires. Disconnected the plug when I took it out to change the gear and clean it up. Do you think I need to reset the ecu so it 'learns' the new change in gears? Or doesn't it apply in this instance? Also if you do, is disconnecting the battery for a certain amount of time all you need to do? Thanks for any help! Marc

You shouldn't really need to disconnect it unless you have problems. Guess it couldn't hurt either.
