I know there's somebody here that sells them, but he doesn't have one for my Jeep, which is a 96. Where else might one find a FSM, preferrably online and as quickly as possible? I've lost my Haynes and have no desire to replace it with another 20 dollar sub-par version. I want the real deal.

God damn, 100 bucks for a FSM?! Maybe I *will* stick to an inferior Haynes manual...

Then get the 97 FSM from Dirk, it's a hell of a lot better than haynes (barf) and the vehicles are damn near identical.

Yeah, I was hoping to get one for a 96 specifically, but if I cant, I might go that route. I think 96 was sort of a bastard year.

Jim-

You can't compare a haynes manual to an FSM...and you can't compare their prices. The FSM has over 350 pages alone on rebuilding the auto tranny...and the rest of the book has almost as much detail on every other process. I think i paid ~70$ for mine, but for the life of me i can't remember what website i ordered it from. Maybe check the JU search to see if you can dig up a link to who has the best prices on them.

Like Ron said, the FSM is truly worth its weight in gold. Walk into a dealership, find their rack of manuals, are they Haynes or Chiltons? No. They're the FSM's. They're that price for a reason, and it's money well spent if you're gonna work on your rig. I reference mine quite a bit, and it was invaluable during my 231 swap.

Alright, twist my arm. So I have to order one online then eh? Nobody knows of a reliable/cheap place? I was hoping for something local if possible since I need this like.. right now.

Damn Jim,

You could have gotten the 97 one from me and I would have made you a sweet deal like I did for Nate since it is not the exact year.

If your interested, just let me know.

Why exactly don't you have the 96 anyway? I'm interested in the 97 if you think it will work...

The reason I don't have the 96 is because I can not find it. I have spent along time searching for it but NO one seems to have it.

I am fairly confident the 97 will work for you just fine. I use the 97 on my 96 ALL the time and it works great.
