does anyone know of a set that will work good with a stock engine. i need to know where you bought them and how much you paid. going on a 5.9L

i found a set of mopar performance aluminum heads for $724.00 from summit racing.

those aluminum heads are overpriced, and the exhaust manifold port is different than the standard Magnum Iron or Iron R/T head's as well. For whatever reason they were not made to accept a production exhaust manifold easily, even though the flange pattern is the same.

$724 for a bare head is a rip off.

if you really need aluminum heads Edelbrock makes a 2.02/1.62 set for the 5.2/5.9 for like $1350 or so off Summit, there are a few vendors selling them on ebay too. Keep in mind all 3-4 people that I know of so far who have bought these have required work from a shop to get them ready to bolt on.

personally if you off-road i'd go with some iron R/T 1.92's and bolt those on with a light port job, 3 angle valve job, some mopar .525 springs and a KRC 200 cam. (254HR-12 comp cams is similiar too)

I'd just use the heads you have now and save money. Port & polish, bigger valves/springs, 3 angle valve job, and a gasket match will free up plenty of horsies.
