Just ordered a Fastman throttle body for my 4.0l. I was just wondering if anyone has installed and used one? Even with my pricing on an anodized red RE one this one was a steel. I can't wait. Full writeup coming soon.

it takes about 10 minutes to install.. just have the right torx bit with you
I personally felt it was worth the 150 + core for the 62mm TB. .. Jeep launches a little faster and I have more uphill power
Yeah I have it. Really I don't think it made a huge difference. I guess I was expecting more. I don't think you can really feel 5hp.

A little more power with the pedal on the floor. My old tb was DIRTY. Proably made more of difference by just putting a new clean tb on. Glad I didn't pay 350 for a re tb. This is a good compromise between price and power increase.

I have not yet ordered mine but I am planning on getting the red RE one. JeepinJoe has a great price on them. Still more than the FastMan that's for sure but the RE is way more BLING!!!!
Yeah I wouldn't pay the price RE has. The Fastman one is the same thing and alot cheaper. If you really need it to be red... spray paint is cheap

Who freakin cares if it is red. It would be a big waste of money. My price on this was good enough. I couldn't imagine paying any more than what I paid for the same size tb. Email Nick. Much better price for the same thing.

The more mods you have on the engine the better it'll do you. It will add a much bigger increase on my stroker than it will your 4.0 :finga:

I like the RE tb, and at the price I got it for, I couldnt say no :smt003
I had my tb bored out to 60mm. It takes out the bottom taper. Works great and cost me $35. See if a machine shop can do it for you.

fast forward 5 years..
The Fastman (http://www.thefastman.com/Throttlebodies40.asp) or BBK Performance (http://www.bbkperformance.com/products/throttle-bodies/jeep-throttle-bodies/91-03-40l-jeep-62mm-throttle-body.html)
fastman = $150 + $75 Core + $10 shipping

WASTE OF $$
grinder + time = stock TB to 60mm!
unless your running a stroker 60mm is plenty! I did vacuum testing to backup that statement on mine, with my big valves and other higher flow mods than stock
but if your running a bigger stroker: get a 68mm tb from a later 4.7 v8 and adapt it to the intake manifold for lots of air flow. running this on my brothers 4.7L big valve stoker.
i’m running a header (http://www.ineedparts.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=15343), DUI Firepower Ignition (http://www.performancedistributors.com/jeep.htm), K&N drop-in (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2048), 2½" madrel tubes out the rear, magnaflow 94306 (http://www.car-sound.com/02product/displayuniversal.asp?universal=94306), and a hushpower 12518400 (http://www.hushpower.com/product/29/HP-2+Series+Mufflers+-+409S.html?search_text=12518400)
i figured it could benefit from a 62mm TB
there are plenty of used, ported TB’s on the market – just wondering if a new vs ported had any advantages like refined passages cast into the housing, new shaft seals & bearings, etc
i guess there is only one way to find out..

A bored TB is the only thing I don't have done short of bigger valves (have valve grind, 99+ intake, banks header & 2 1/2" mandrel bent all the way out, gasket matched manifolds, Kolak ignition, & cammed), and I'm not sure if I will drop the money on it or not, hell I don't even know if everything I have done is netting me a whole lot over stock. I'll let you know in a couple weeks.

For $150 it's a cheap upgrade, that will be the next thing I pick up. Right now I have the Turbo City Rock-it intake with TB spacer, Taurus e-fan, 180 thermostat, gutted cat, series 40 muffler, and Jet Stage 2 module. Got the intake and Jet module for $100, so couldn't pass it up. Highway MPG went up but city is still the same. I think I will clean out my current TB and see if it runs better before dropping the cash though.

TB spacer
From my research these yield nothing.
