So i'm on my third set of main bearings. The first ones were pressed into eachother (you've seen the pics), the second set I just found out is .010" too small. Had to take them back and get the oversized ones - the ones I bought in the first place :axe:

Anyway, the pistons are ordered.. now its just a matter of pulling the old engine, porting the head, balancing the rotating assembly, and building the stroker up. Pistons should be here on the 22nd or so. I'm one excited little boy :supz:

I'm looking at around 300 + ft/lbs to the rear wheels.

I'm not tryin to be an asshole, sorry, because I know I'm sounding like one.

I'm just curious as to why and try and cram the 33's on there...why not wait and buy parts little by little and lift it before putting the tires on there. To me, it seems more logical to get the 4.5" of lift on there with the 31's you had, then get the cash together for the tires. I know, ain't shit you can do about it now, and it's your jeep, so do it however the hell you want to do it.

Because the 4.5" lift would have been several thousand dollars (i'd swap axles at the same time) and I needed new tires now. I got a great deal on the tires and wheels so it wasn't that big of a deal. Also, I'm getting the benefits of 33's (ground clearance and all) without increasing my COG more than one inch. I'm not afraid to cut fenders at all. I am going to lift one more inch in a few weeks, a friend of mine offered me XJ 4.5" springs so i'll put those in the front and do a f/r swap.

What I did I thought about a lot and it was the most logical setup for my needs and limits.

Then when you trip fenders they give you shit because you should have just lifted it.

front to rear swap with xj 4.5" re springs in the front. The fenders actualy turned out pretty well.. I just haven't grinded down the welds and completely finished it off yet. The camera is shitty so it looks a little funny. I basically cut along the stock bends and it came out pretty well.

*edit* i'm not happy with the way the back flexes (see pics) so i'm thinking about getting different rear springs.

FINALLY at a point where I can start doing some work on her again. I won't be able to start my next project until memorial day weekend but i'm going to start working on the electronics now. I'm currently trying to find a suitable DPDT switch joystick to use to change gears. I really like this one: http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/961099-joystick-1000-microswitch-6a-1d27f1500.html but it is a little small. The specification page doesn't list any units with the dimension but i'm assuming its in mm which makes the switch about 2" tall! I like the idea of having a short throw but that's a little silly for this application. If anybody knows where to find another switch let me know. I've been scouring the web with no luck. It can be as simple as SPST and I can make it work, I just want a decent sized joystick. The trouble is all the big guys seem to be contactless or potentiometer, which wouldn't work for me.

The goal is to be able to switch gears with a 4-way joystick and have a toggle switch for torque converter lockup. Should be pretty spiffy when all is said and done.
