Hello,

I would like to add an on board air system to my 4.0 liter ZJ. I have a few questions.

First is any one running the Extreme Aire electric air system? What are your thoughts? Looks like its easy to set up and mount, plus its a 100% duty cycle. The down side is it is slower than some of the belt driven compressors. They claim a 1 minute 30 seconds to fill a 33 X 12.50 from 10 psi to 32 PSI.

If I run with a belt driven system are there options to mount it in the factory air filter box area of the 4.0 liter? Also, is it driven by a separate v-belt just tied into one of the other pulleys on the serpentine?

I have the Extreme Aire setup. Not too bad.

IMO go with CO2.

A York will do a better job than any 12v compressor, but its not a easy job. You have to fab your own bracket to mount the York, move the battery, overflow bottle, ect...

I'll post some pics in a bit.

Search for buzzard gulch on EBAY

They have a 12v compressor... flows more CFMs that a quickair 3, a viair 400 or any of those guys...

Comes with a tank, a reg and a preasure switch.

180 shipped.

I don't know if it will out-do an extreme air but for the money it's kickass

Scott,

My setup works pretty good, though compared to a Co2 tank it sucks. At the time, Co2 setups were around $400, so I decided not to. Now I can get a setup for $200. Fillups are like $20 and might have to do that once or twice a season running ARBs and inflating tires.
