I just installed some extended fender flares to keep the local popo off my tail after a warning and then a ticket i received for "my tires sticking out too far". I used the generic fender flares from JCWhitney that just mold to fit. I then pop riveted the flares to the body. it actually turned out rather well. I was suprised. As far as wheelin' with them goes, i think they would get ripped off rather easily. I just did it for the time being to keep the law off my tail here in WI. I will finally be moving back south to Georgia in the next month or so and shouldn't have to worry about it so much then. Anyhow, just thought I would post up to give others ideas and options.

oh yeah, the only thing i really need to finish up is the portion of the flare that curls down at the end of the flare. i plan on adding a little support brace to help support it.

Enjoy

I think those look pretty nice. Of course no flares is better, but if you have to have them... Sure beats the hell outta Bushwackers.

Not that I've seen. Most stuff is universal.

Doesn't look too bad.

Bringin it back from the dead. This thread is old, but my heep has a little booboo on the rear passenger fender now and I was hoping to just cut it off and cover it with a flare of some sort. The dents are too high to beat with a hammer since the inner fender covers it and is welded inside or something. Anybody know of any flares that don't look shitty and won't evaporate as soon as they touch an obstacle?

EGR makes some good ones. They'll take a decent hit without a problem. Gives you maybe 1.5-2" of extra width. I've used these to cover up Rubicon damage. I didn't find any good pics on the web - they just have pics of what they look like on a Chevy, but they give you the general idea. (They look much better painted to match your ZJ)
