Would this be worth the money or should I just do a 8.8 or 9" swap? Going to be installing my Clayton front long arms soon and have to by the rear axle crossmember since the 4 link kit I bought from another member didnt come with that. So I want to decide on what axle before I order the brackets and possible axle bracket kit.

Current setup is RE 4.5 w/1.75 front spacers, front isolaters in rear and 33x12.5 muds.

Thanks for the help.

something just doesnt seem right about Claytons LA and a D35. Definatley ditch it at your earliest convenience. In all seriousness swapping in an 8.8/9" is much more cost effective for what you get. You should post this in Newbie Tech or just do a search over at JeepForum or JU, there are hundreds of threads about this.

With a v-8, you'll blow that turdy 35 to pieces... build the 8.8, 44, 60 or 9" and call it good.

If you come across a Super 35 kit that's used and cheap, that's the only way you should even consider running the super kits. Despite the fact that you'll be upgrading to larger shafts, you'll still have the issue of the weak ring gear, pinion, and even spider gears. Not even worth messing with, IMO. But an 8.8 swap is also a lot of work and pretty expensive as I'm finding out.

***READ THE FORUM RULES BEFORE POSTING IN ANY FORUM***

The rules for this forum:

This forum is designed for upper level drivetrain tech. This is NOT the place to ask about doing a Super 35 kit. That is polishing a turd!

This if off to Newbie Tech, this is not the place to be talking about a "stupor turdy five"

Other than that, welcome to MC.

I'm running the super 35 with 33s and 4.56s. No problems yet.

if you were staying with short arms and didn't want to deal with new brackets and all that I'd totally understand, but considering how 'intrusive' the long arm system install is, I wouldn't hesitate to install an 8.8 at the same time IMO.
