View Full Version : After wheeling, passenger door sticks?

At first I though I'd landed on my rockers hard enough to push the door seal up and cause the door to bind when opening it, but there's no visible damage to the plastic cladding or anything underneath. It's like the door seal has bulged up in the center, causing the door to bind when I open/close it. Really strange. Could I have tweaked the unibody? If so, what should I do about it? Ignore it? Wait for the Jeep to fall apart? I did some really tight trails with lots of flexing this weekend, so I'm thinking that's the issue. But I'm concerned as to whether I could have caused permanent structural damage? Put my mind to ease.

Well, that sucks. Is it an issue, or should I just keep on wheeling it until it falls apart?

wheel 'till it falls apart. You can also adjust the door if you're so inclined...

I smashed it back down with a dead blow hammer. It closes pretty well again.

Yeah...i've lost count of the number of times my doors / liftgate can't close either properly or at all. This also puts stress on the latches.

A good internal cage i believe would stiffen up the unibody to help prevent the whole thing from flexing up.

I'm having problems with the front driver side door popping when it closes.

HInge might be going bad. My hinges are pretty much shot. But my doors are pretty light now... :D

They do sell replacement hinges at the dealership or at least I have heard they do... :?
