Plan on doing the front to rear swap for my lift. ive read the write up for it on here but what is the best approach for it?

was thinking 4.5 RE springs for the front.

can anyone give me advice throught their experience with it?

You might want to try nagca.com or jeepsunlimited.com for info on this one :)

And doesn't front springs in the rear net 3"? Youd end up 1.5" higher in the front, unless adding a spacer to the back.

i did this on my old I6 and used V8 upcountry coils in the front with a 1.75 spacer. this netted about 3.5" of lift, if you have the I6 i would recommend this becuase it was uber cheap! If you go with the RE 4.5 you can add spacers to the rear to make up the difference but I think it would be hard to do this with stock arms...soooooo if you want to keep stock arms i would use either RE 3.5 or the V8's with the upcountry and spacers if you have the I6.

On a side note, if you are just trying to save money try buying your arms, spings, trac bars etc used. I did that on my second Jeep and was able to put together all 8 adj. arms, 2 adj. trac bars, 4 RE 4.5" springs and some RE sway links for like $700.

I think he meant if you're going over 3"

Stock arms above 3" REALLY bring the suck.

Best cheap way: 3" springs up front. Stock arms, new extended shocks, extend front trackbar, leave rear alone. If not compentent at welding or don't know anyone that can weld, replace front trackbar aswell. 31-32" tires.

Best way: new adjustable arms all around, 3.5" coils up front, new adjustable front and rear trackbars with the new bracket on the front trackbar like kevin's conversion or the RE HD kit. 33" tires.

Keep in mind if you go with anything bigger than 31s it's probably a good idea to go with a 1310 u-joint front CV driveshaft and also new 760x u-jointed axle shafts up front and at least an axle shaft upgrade out back, ideally a new axle like a D44 or 8.8 if you're running the D35.

i am running xj 4.5 coils in the front and regular v8 front springs in the rear. with the arb bumper and winch it sits about level when its settled all in. factory arms all around and front and rear adj trac bars, for a yr i ran a front and rear bracket for the tb's but i would just get the bars. at the time i did mine rustys didnt offer a 3.5 ZJ coil so i got the 4.5 xj ones. been about 3 yrs and i like it, only reason i didnt go new arms was that i want to go bigger and la's once i get outta school, mine has the 4.0 i run 32's with some rubbing flexed cause my back spacing kinda sucks. the 33 10.50 rub some too but the width kinda helps though. d35 doesnt hold up that well for me at least once i had put the lockright in there so i would go ahead and look at getting a 8.8, i lucked up and got one for 200 with 4.10's and a ls so i was set.
