I've heard that you can use your stock ZJ discs when converting from the turdy-five to a 44 w/the addition of some sort of spacer used on the Rubi's... is this true, & if so is the MJ D44 the same as the XJ D44? I've aquired an MJ D44 & mini-spool for it for the grand total of $150. I'm just wondering what kind of issues I may run into trying to put my 35 brakes on the new axle?

yes you can use the d35 stuff. the brake swap involves some work though www.stu-offroad.com > index

as far as i know the XJ D44 and MJ 44 would be the same

Actually the Rubi retaining plate (2) is what you nee dto use 35/44A discs on a TJ 44. XJ / MJ some times have a slightly different mounting pattern where the plate bolts to the tube, so you might have to have something fabbed.

Measure the 4 holes on the MJ axle, I'll let you know if it matches the two rubi plates I've got sitting in my garage.
